Frequently Asked Questions
How does the date calculator count business days?
The date calculator's business day mode counts only Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. You can calculate the number of business days between two dates or add/subtract a specific number of business days from a starting date. This is useful for shipping estimates, project timelines, contract deadlines, and payroll calculations.
Does the world clock automatically adjust for daylight saving time?
Yes. The world clock uses your browser's built-in time zone database, which includes all current daylight saving time (DST) rules for every time zone worldwide. When a city observes DST, the displayed time automatically reflects the current offset. The meeting planner also accounts for DST differences between locations.
Can I use the countdown timer offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the countdown timer runs entirely in your browser and does not require an internet connection. The timer continues to run as long as the browser tab is open. Audio alerts will play when the timer reaches zero, even if you are working in a different tab.
What is the Pomodoro technique and how does the timer help?
The Pomodoro technique is a time management method where you work in focused 25-minute intervals (called 'pomodoros') separated by 5-minute breaks. After four pomodoros, you take a longer 15-30 minute break. Our Pomodoro timer automates this cycle, tracks your completed sessions, and provides productivity statistics. You can also customize interval lengths and use the Deep Work preset for longer focus sessions.
How precise is the online stopwatch?
The stopwatch uses your browser's high-resolution timer (performance.now()), which provides sub-millisecond precision. The display updates every 10 milliseconds. While browser-based timers are not as precise as dedicated hardware stopwatches, they are more than accurate enough for most timing needs including sports timing, cooking, presentations, and general productivity tracking.
