What Is This Online Puzzle Game?
This is a free jigsaw puzzle game that runs entirely in your web browser. Turn any photo into a real jigsaw puzzle with authentic interlocking piece shapes generated using bezier curves. Upload vacation photos, family portraits, pet pictures, or artwork — your images stay on your device and are never sent to a server.
If you do not have an image ready, choose from 48 procedurally generated built-in images across eight categories: landscapes, gradients, geometric shapes, repeating patterns, abstract art, space scenes, nature, and colorful mosaics. Each one is designed with high color variation for satisfying gameplay.
Four difficulty levels range from a quick 25-piece Easy mode to a challenging 225-piece Expert mode. A daily puzzle provides the same image and difficulty for all players worldwide, and a built-in timer, move counter, and star rating system track your performance.
How to Play Online Puzzles
Select an image: Upload your own photo or pick a built-in image from one of eight categories. Then choose your difficulty level — 25, 49, 100, or 225 pieces — and click Start Puzzle.
Drag pieces into place: Click or tap a piece to grab it, then drag it to the assembly zone in the center. When a piece is within 20 pixels of its correct position, it snaps into place automatically with a satisfying click sound.
Use hints when stuck: Three hint types are available. Show Preview overlays the complete image. Highlight Edges flashes border pieces. Find Next points you toward a random unplaced piece and its target location. Hints reduce your star rating, so use them strategically.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my own photos as jigsaw puzzles?
Yes. Click the upload area or drag and drop any JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 10 MB. The image is automatically scaled to fit the puzzle grid. Everything runs in your browser — your photos are never uploaded to a server.
How does the snap mechanic work?
When you drag a puzzle piece within about 20 pixels of its correct position, it snaps into place with a brief glow and a satisfying click sound. Once placed, the piece locks and cannot be moved again. This works on both desktop (mouse) and mobile (touch drag).
What is the daily puzzle?
Each day a new puzzle is generated using the date as a seed, so everyone gets the same image and difficulty on the same day. Difficulty and image selection rotate automatically. It is a fun way to compete with friends on completion time and move count.
Does the puzzle work on mobile phones?
Yes. The entire puzzle is rendered on a Canvas element that scales to your screen width. Pieces are touch-draggable and sized to be at least 30 pixels wide on smaller screens. Easy and Medium modes work best on phones, while Hard and Expert are designed for tablets and desktops.
How is the star rating calculated?
You earn 3 stars by completing the puzzle without any hints and in under a time threshold based on piece count. 2 stars require no more than 2 hints. 1 star is awarded for all other completions.
