Why You Need a Multi-Timer in the Kitchen
Cooking a complete meal means juggling multiple dishes with different cooking times. The pasta needs 10 minutes, the sauce needs 5, and the garlic bread needs 12. A single kitchen timer forces you to do mental math and remember when you started each item. A multi-timer solves this by letting you track everything independently.
Our cooking timer runs up to 8 timers simultaneously, each with its own label, countdown, progress ring, and alert sound. Name each timer after the dish it tracks, pick different alert sounds so you can tell them apart by ear, and let the visual progress rings show you at a glance what needs attention soon.
The built-in meal presets make it even easier. Click “Pasta Dinner” and three timers appear with the right durations already set. Click “Thanksgiving” for a four-timer setup covering turkey, stuffing, gravy, and rolls. You can customize any preset after loading it.
Cooking Timer Tips for Better Meals
The key to serving everything hot at the same time is working backwards from your target serve time. If dinner is at 7:00 PM and the turkey takes 3.5 hours, start it at 3:30 PM. Start the stuffing 45 minutes before serve time, and the gravy 15 minutes before. Set all timers at the start and let them count down to the right moments.
For baking, precision matters more than for stovetop cooking. A minute too long can mean the difference between golden-brown cookies and burnt ones. Use the exact second inputs rather than rounding to the nearest minute, and pick the Alarm alert sound for baked goods so you react quickly.
If you are meal prepping for the week, set up timers for each batch -- one for the rice cooker, one for roasting vegetables, one for the protein. The export feature lets you save your timer configurations as a reference for next time.
For grilling, where timing is critical, keep your phone or tablet near the grill with this page open. The alerts will repeat until dismissed, so you will not miss the moment to flip or pull your meat off the heat.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I time multiple dishes at once?
Click 'Add Timer' to create up to 8 simultaneous timers. Label each one with the dish name, set the duration, and start them individually or all at once. Each timer counts down independently with its own alert sound.
What cooking presets are available?
Built-in presets include Pasta Dinner (boil water, cook pasta, heat sauce), Thanksgiving (turkey, stuffing, gravy, rolls), Hard Boiled Eggs, Workout, and Tea & Coffee. Each preset loads the right number of timers with accurate durations.
Will I hear the alarm if I leave the kitchen?
The alert sound repeats continuously until you click Dismiss, so you will hear it as long as your device volume is up. Choose the Alarm sound for maximum volume, or Kitchen Bell for a gentler alert.
Can I customize the timer durations for my recipes?
Yes. Each timer has hour, minute, and second inputs you can set to any value. You can also use quick presets (1m, 3m, 5m, etc.) and edit the timer label to match your recipe step.
Do the timers work if I switch to another app?
The timers track absolute end times using your system clock, so they stay accurate even when the browser tab is in the background. The alert will play when you return to the tab.
